Transform Matrix change, Custom CSS not working

For some reason I cannot override article__parallax with the values
height: 687px;
transform: matrix(1, 0, 0, 1, 0, 0);
opacity: 1;

I want the background image to show and not a weird header gap
The existing follows:
height: 687px;
transform: matrix(1, 0, 0, 1, 0, 104);
opacity: 1;

I would just make the bar transparent however I also cant figure out how to change the font color of the menu, I need it to be black. So either I need to figure out how to change the properties of the menu bar on the transparent bar (When it is transparent) or how to make the gap disappear.
