Hi,
I’m super new to all this website stuff, but want to learn. I already have a website that was created through Wix. I want to ‘re create’ this same website but do it myself, using WordPress. I won’t want to change the domain once the new version is up and running, just switch it across from Wix to my own.
How do I go about designing the new version offline, so there are no changes under that domain name to my current site, but I am still able to view the new site as I work on it? No one else needs to access it, so it’s fine if it’s all saved on my own computer.
Also, can anyone suggest a good tutorial for how MySQL, phpMyAdmin, etc all interlink? I’m a bit confused by what’s going on….
I’ve also been asked to edit someone else’s already created wordpress site. Editing the text and templates seems straightforward enough, but I’m struggling once it comes to redesigning a whole template. It’s a custom theme if that makes any difference.
